10,000,000 is a lot of anything.  Ten million Remington 870s made in the last 50 years.... Guess that sums it up! If there was a people's choice award for shotguns, the Remington 870 would have been the fan favorite!  The public has spoken!

OK, I will humbly see if I can add some details here for those few of you that are not familiar with this timeless example of a great shotgun.  When you get it right, you just get it right.  Now for those of you that lean toward pistol grips and tactical features, Remington is making the Remington 870 Tactical model, but today's review is on the what I feel is one of the best all around utility shotguns ever made. The 870 is fancy only in its simplicity and brilliant in its dependability and design.

The 870 has a long history, from military and law enforcement use to Uncle Harry going hunting for Turkey, Duck and Quail.  From hunting to self defense, bird shot to 00 buck, it's a formidable shotgun. Hunter or trap and skeet shooters will find the Remington 870 a balanced, smooth and easy to operate pump shotgun.  The 870 features a bottom-loading, side ejecting, billet receiver. It has a tubular magazine under the barrel, dual action bars, internal hammer, and a bolt which locks into an extension in the barrel. It's pump action is light and smooth. The trigger breaks right where you would expect it too and the safety is a very familiar, button on the trigger guard.

Joe Biden, your advice was sound when you said women should "buy a shotgun".  I think every woman really should be proficient with a range of firearms that include her own self- defense handgun, an AR-15, (Yes, we can aim them quite well, thank you!) and a good all purpose shotgun like the 870.  In my opinion the only thing one can do to improve this all around great shotgun, is put it in the arms of a beautiful woman that is trained to shoot it.  - Anna

Miss January, 2014 is a shining example of what is right with America!  She is truth, Justyce  and the American way, all wrapped up in a beautiful package!.  Justyce (I love that name by the way) lives in a small town just outside of Seattle, WA.  Her favorite pastimes are riding horses, shooting guns and the occasional shopping trip to the big city!  Her Daddy was a rodeo bull rider and taught her to ride, rope and shoot as a young girl. She is a country girl at heart, but takes on the big city fashion scene just as easily as she negotiates the barrels in a barrel race.  Justyce is a revolver girl at heart, her S&W .357 is her favorite handgun, but she is every bit as capable with a Glock or Sig. Be it rifle, revolver, semi-auto or shotgun Justyce is a hell of a shot!

The best part about Justyce is that she has a great sense of humor and a sweet, girl next door humility about her. She is quick to smile and tease. We had a blast shooting together! Don't underestimate her friendly demeanor though, when it comes to protecting herself and those that she loves, she won't hesitate to defend....around here, we call that Justyce!
