So they say if the proverbial S$%t hits the fan and we have WWZ, the ammo that you will be picking up off the ground will either be AK 7.62x39, Nato 9mm or M4 5.56. When it comes to a very cool zombie, "end of the world" compact bug out gun, I always find myself leaning toward the classics.  1st choice for me ammo aside, is the M1 Carbine, my second choice just might be the Polish PPSc 9mm. Designed for the Red Army's paratroopers and tankers and bragging rights with a production run of over 2 million it was a popular, compact, easy to shoot 100 yard rifle made from 1943 to 1946. Its folding stock and short barrel made it ideal for tight spaces, and its lines certainly cut an impressive looking machine pistol presence.

Our imported PPSc like so many firearms whose mods are done to fit the ATF rules here in the US had the folding stock welded closed to qualify it as a pistol and avoid the tax stamp penalty of a short barrel rifle under 16inches. A beautiful conversion back to a short barreled rifle was done by the boys over at Hardened Arms and back to its original butt stock folding condition I just could not get enough of this well balanced little SBR. The 9mm round is basically a pistol round and as such it's an amazingly soft shooter, with literally no recoil when fired.I found the safety that is forward of the trigger and located inside the trigger guard different but easy to use. For me its biggest pluses are that it's light,  can be fired with the stock open or folded and was so straight forward and easy to handle and shoot that I honestly think it might be an almost perfect first time shooters rifle experience. The price range of these imports is affordable and on par with a standard 9mm pistol so owning one of my own is now at the top of my New Years resolutions! - Anna

Alda is a free spirit who loves the outdoors as much as life itself. She became a coffee barista so that she could find work in any locale where coffee is consumed and thus be free to travel and roam as she wished. She picked up and moved to Alaska where she lived for a few years to check out the last frontier.  Her nearest next door neighbor was a moose who used to hang out in her yard just  to hang out. She loves hiking, cuddling with her huge 150lb Labrador named "Pippin" and baking!  You will find her out horseback riding every chance she gets open carrying a Smith and Wesson model 66 on her hip. If the weather is bad on her day off, a sure bet is a batch of home made cookies and a full day of "Shadow of Mordor" on the video console. This all American Guns and Lace girl is extrememly capable and fully able to protect herself.  America needs more women just like Alda!
