WALTHER PPS Walther PPS
Country of Origin: US Manufacturer: Walther Arms Co. Action: Semi auto Frame: Polymer Caliber: 9mm Barrel Length: 3.2 inches Overall Length: 6.3 inches Weight: 1lbs 3oz Magazine: 6 round magazine standard, 7 and 8 extended Sights: Three dot, low profile, adjustable rear for windage In my world the name Walther has always been synonymous with Ian Fleming's character James Bond. Who hasn't seen The Man with the Golden Gun, Thunderball, or a View to a Kill. From Sean Connery to Daniel Craig , OO7 has always been associated with beautiful women and a Walther pistol.
That brings us to this month's review of the modern Polymer Walther Arms PPS (yes, we know James carried a PPK). The PPS is a first rate carry piece for the modern Bond or his beautiful female nemesis. It is a slim compact 9mm that carries a lot of punch and is both dependable and a dream to shoot. Bond girls are known for packing their curves into gorgeous slinky dresses that leave little room to the imagination and even less room for a carry piece. The Walther PPS is a 6 round powerhouse in a single stack, narrow frame that is ideal for carrying in anything from an in the waistband holster to a garter holster. With a 3 dot, low profile sight system it's easy to get on target and less likely to snag on clothing when drawn, the Walther has a quick reset, short trigger pull that weighs in at only 6.1 pounds. The light trigger pull is refreshing as some smaller compacts require yards of take up on the trigger, the Walther was accurate fast on follow up and even though its a 9mm it was easy on the hand. It took everything we threw at it from new to reloads without jam or complaint. The trigger is equipped with a trigger safety. The mag release is an ambidextrous, fast drop system consisting of a lever on either side of the trigger, though different than the average button it's a very efficient system that allows quick mag changes even when wearing long black evening gloves! It is a modern world, men, so you might as well get used to the idea that the beautiful woman sitting beside you at the Bacarrat table is as likely to be carrying a Walther concealed carry piece as you're. -Anna Prada

A successful model, with a who's who resume of model titles and her own agency, this young lady has it going on! Don't make the mistake of thinking this successful young girl next door is helpless runway model though, as she is a very good shot with either rifle or pistol and not only does she turn heads coming into the range her shooting ability brings the same respect.
We asked Prada what TV show she liked best and her first answer was "Who has time to watch TV?". You are more likely to find her spending her free time at the range, behind a camera, building a website or volunteering for the Oregon Media Production Association. Taking the initiative is what this Guns and Lace girl is all about, and we are excited both about her feature and working with her agency on an ongoing basis for the magazine. Wow, girl who can shoot and also attract the best talent, now that is what I'm talking about! Men if you want to take Prada to the range you better get on her calendar and be on time! Guns Up Salute to you Prada, America needs more young entrepreneurs like you who understand that this country is built on hard work and the right to bear arms! |
