"I'd the distinct pleasure of getting to chat with Gunny at Shot Show. As a spokes person for Glock he was there showing off their 10mm Glock 29.  Shooting the 10mm on the range at Media Day, I was an instant fan of the ergonomics of a whale of a big round with tons of knock down power in a relatively small frame but manageable package. "Thar's a Bear in those wood!s!"  Yup there is, and if you hike, hunt or camp in wooded areas, you will agree that none of us want to run into is an angry bear with nothing sizeable to protect ourselves with. Guns and Lace girl Rebel, bought hers for exactly that reason and it's a good one. Knock down power is a very important element when facing a large predator close up and personal!

The grip, form, function and trigger safety are all classic Glock. With a 5.5 pound trigger, 6.6 inch overall length, dual spring recoil dampening system, polymer frame and a weight that won't have you feeling like you're carrying the kitchen sink on your hip. The 29 is a great sidearm for backing up your hunting rifle. We have all heard the endless arguments about caliber and knockdown when it comes to carry pieces, so if you're a fan of the big stuff, this one just might be the right primary sidearm for you!

The sights are standard Glock, the grip is textured, comes with two different size backstraps and has finger cutouts, that I found comfortable even in my smaller hand. Who can argue with a standard mag that holds 10 rounds of sledge hammer punch. Add a large capacity mag and you have 15 rounds at your disposal plus an additional one in the chamber.

The distance between sights is 6.77 inches and brought me good results at 25 yards. I find that recoil anticipation becomes the biggest detriment to accurate shooting of a large caliber handgun in a small package, and the Glock 29 certainly outperformed me as a shooter after about 20 rounds. - Anna
